На семинаре "Хвостатый кинематограф, или Зверский талант" генеральный директор Виктор Зуйков не только представит своих питомцев, но и расскажет о сложностях работы с животными на съемочной площадке.

Планируется также семинар по спецэффектам с участием ведущих западных специалистов, а также презентация Cinema 4D от компании Maxon. Технических специалистов ждут семинары по продукции компании IKEGAMI, студийному осветительному оборудованию и т.д. В программе также мастер-класс по использованию тросовых систем и роботизированных комплексов с участием компании АСТ и Сергея Астахова. Кроме того, будет ряд семинаров по смежным темам – систему комплексного страхования в кинопроизводстве представит «Ингосстрах»; многолетние проблемы медиапиратства и защиты авторских прав будут обсуждаться с участием Независимой ассоциации DVD издателей.

WATCHOUT drives images for CES keynote and Microsoft CES Experience Pavilion

Linkoping, Sweden, 31 January 2012 – Dataton’s high-performance presentation software, WATCHOUT was used by Mind Opera in one of the most impressive CES stands and the conference Keynote presentation at this year’s CES International 2012 event.

Seattle-based creative agency PBJS hired Mind Opera for its expertise and track record in creating high-impact presentations using Dataton WATCHOUT™ technology. Mind Opera was asked to participate in two projects to implement PBJS's visuals for Steve Ballmer's 90-minute Microsoft Keynote and a 60'x6' video wall, as a part of the Microsoft Experience Pavilion. Bryan Schaeffer of Sintr.com was also involved in making the project come to life, working with Mind Opera. WATCHOUT and the computers to run it were supplied and supported by Show Sage from Brighton, MI.

 

Dataton strikes a keynote
For the CES keynote, a three-screen WATCHOUT presentation utilized looping scenic backdrops, transitions bumpers and video playback, as well as audio stingers. The show ran flawlessly, timed to perfection due to WATCHOUT's timeline based control.

Microsoft Experience CES Pavilion
The Pavilion comprised sixty-three 47” flat screens creating a video wall 60' wide by 6' tall. Four WATCHOUT display computers were used outputting two channels each. Seven channels fed 3x3 segments of wall, and the eighth channel was fed to an LED video ceiling that followed the walls movement. Mind Opera also designed a 7.1 linear sound system for the wall, fed through an eight-channel audio device connected to a WATCHOUT display. This gave the sound designer a tool to create audio effects that moved up and down the wall, adding sound movement to the audiences’ experience. As a final step, the time code was sent to the lighting board, which allowed it to track the timeline with lighting effects.

David Johnson at Mind Opera says, “Ultimately WATCHOUT was the perfect solution for the video wall. Bryan Schaeffer and myself rely on this technology to create a big and unique experience for the attendees, that reflected Microsoft's brand and showed off the new Windows 8 style graphics seamlessly. We quickly set up a miniaturized version of the video wall at our office which allowed our client to view the wall at anytime and gave them confidence that the WATCHOUT technology would be perfect for their installation. Whether it was a creative or technical challenge, WATCHOUT's flexibility allowed us to say yes to every new aspect of this project.”

Joe Casson, 21, is working at the company’s global headquarters in Brighton, UK enhancing his academic studies with the real-world experience of being part of a class-leading technology consultancy practice.

Blair Parkin, MD, Visual Acuity, comments: “As independent technology consultants we work very closely with architects, and the emerging discipline of Architectural Technology – which is the scientific study of design and construction, as opposed to Architecture where the main focuses are the philosophy of space and aesthetics of design – is going to play a significant role in the evolution of our practice.

“Having Joe in our office has already added a different dimension to the team, and in the months to come we expect that the transfer of knowledge between us will develop further.”

Noel Painting, Casson’s course tutor at the University of Brighton, adds: “Having completed two years of his three-year course, Joe is now completing a year at Visual Acuity before returning to his academic studies.

“When organising work placements such as this, we always try to add value to local businesses, and of course Visual Acuity has a great advantage here because the scope of their work is so wide, and covers such a range of different building projects in locations all over the world.”

Casson himself concludes: “The industry work placement on my course is optional but having spent a few weeks at Visual Acuity, has been tremendously valuable in gaining direct experience to take back to my final year of study and ultimately the working world upon graduation. The office holds a great diversity of employees, and I feel very lucky to be ‘dabbling’ in some of the most innovative, modern and interesting building projects currently being designed.

“I have been able to offer some insight into the building and materials side of technology integration as well as using software to give added design perspective in Visual Acuity’s projects, hopefully these insights are benefitting the company as much as the placement is furthering me in my chosen career path in a competitive building design and construction industry.”

Provides 48 F22 projectors to Farstad Shipping for Australian installation

Fredrikstad, Norway, 31 January 2012 – In one of the most impressive demonstrations yet of the company’s ability to produce consistent, high-performance, immersive imaging for 24/7 applications, Norway’s projectiondesign has supplied 48 of its F22 DLP® projectors to the world’s largest offshore training simulator.

The simulator is located in Perth, Australia, and was built by Offshore Simulator Center AS (OSC) of Aalesund, Norway. The facility is owned and operated by Farstad Shipping, a leading supplier of support services to the international oil industry, and was opened in December by the Norwegian prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg. The Perth project is the company’s most ambitious installation to date, as OSC’s design director, Joel A Mills MSc MNID, explains:

“The Perth installation simulates two large, 360-degree bridges. Personnel using the simulator appear to be on the bridge of a vessel, operating controls for large-scale mechanical hardware such as winches and working in conjunction with other bridge personnel and rig cranes. The emphasis is on teamwork rather than individual tuition. When we train, we train the entire crew of a vessel together, because if something goes wrong in a ship’s engine room, for example, it affects what happens on deck. It also allows us to involve more than one vessel and various crew roles.

“Rather than using a few large, powerful projectors, our requirement is for a large number of relatively small devices that can nonetheless deliver very high-performance imaging over a short throw distance. The F22 is perfect in this respect – bright, consistent, rugged and reliable.”

At the Perth simulation centre, the 48 projectiondesign F22s are used in WUXGA resolution, their images seamlessly blended together to produce a full 360-degree image that is some 7 metres high and 15 metres in diameter. Mills describes the screen shape as ‘half a teacup’ and reveals that it incorporates similar technology to that used in IMAX cinemas.

“The visual simulation aspect of the system is fully integrated with the hardware on the ‘bridge’, which is all Rolls-Royce marine equipment and which behaves exactly as it would if you were really at sea,” Mills continues. “As soon as the simulation starts, you are convinced not only that you are surrounded by water but that the water is actually moving and that you are moving with it.

“A lot can happen when you are servicing an oil-rig in a remote, offshore location, especially if the weather is bad. So the simulator gives us the opportunity to re-create those adverse weather conditions. As the waves grow larger, the movement of the vessels within the 3D environment is mathematically and physically resolved so that their response is exactly as you would expect to find in the real world.”

Commenting on this landmark project, Anders Løkke, International Marketing Director, projectiondesign, says: “We’ve had an excellent working relationship with OSC for many years, and each project they bring us into seems to be more ambitious than the last. Sustainable Technology Environments Program to make European debut in Amsterdam

FAIRFAX, VA — January, 20 2012 — InfoComm International is to present the STEP (Sustainable Technology Environments Program) initiative for the encouragement of green technology projects for the first time in Europe at ISE 2012.

InfoComm’s Sustainability Officer, Allen Weidman, who also serves as the Executive Director of the STEP Foundation, will be on-hand throughout the show to advise manufacturers, distributors, integrators, consultants and end-customers as to what role they can play in the advancement of the STEP initiative, and in the design of pilot projects that implement the STEP rating system.

While there are a number of industry schemes that rate the energy efficiency of individual products and a variety of ways in which architects and site owners can measure and ratify the ‘greenness’ of their building designs, prior to STEP there was no industry program that rated the sustainability of low-voltage systems in the context of the building – before, during, and after installation.

To promote the STEP rating system, the STEP Foundation was launched at InfoComm 11 in Orlando, FL, with InfoComm and CompTIA as its founding associations. They have since been joined by BICSI and TIA, meaning that almost every low-voltage component of a typical building – from AV equipment to IT hardware, lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning – now has representation.

“Building owners who are serious about having structures that operate in a sustainable manner after the occupation phase should investigate having new properties developed in accordance with STEP,” comments Weidman. “Committing early means accruing energy and monetary savings sooner.

“At ISE 2012, we hope to talk to as many different stakeholders as possible, introducing them to the STEP rating system and discussing the possibility of them getting involved with pilot projects. Effective pilot programs are essential to taking the STEP rating system from concept to reality.”

STEP will also be the theme of InfoComm’s ISE press conference, which is scheduled for 12.30pm on Wednesday, 1st February on the InfoComm booth, No.11N100 – located as usual in the public lobby between Halls 9, 10, and 11 of the Amsterdam RAI.

“We know that there are huge numbers of European integrators, consultants and resellers that want to know more about how they can make a contribution to increasing the sustainability of their systems,” Weidman concludes. “Integrated Systems Europe is the perfect place to engage those companies in conversation so that not only do they become fully involved in STEP, they also learn how they can use that involvement as a sales tool to gain a competitive advantage in the market for integration products and services. Lemke, Ph.D., the Executive Director and CEO of InfoComm International since 2000, today announced his planned retirement at the end of 2012, capping off 16 years of service to the commercial audiovisual association. “It has been an honor to serve the needs of such an exciting and innovative industry these past years,” Dr. Lemke stated, “and it’s with mixed feelings that I leave the wonderful team of professionals and close friends I have made here at InfoComm.”
Dr. Lemke holds board positions, and has been the chairman of, Integrated Systems Events, LLC, a joint venture European trade show company, and InfoComm Asia PTE, Ltd., a joint venture company in Singapore operating InfoComm’s Asian tradeshows. He is the founding and current Chairman of the STEP™ Foundation, a jointly supported foundation composed with other industry associations to bring sustainability to the process of planning, designing, integrating and operating technology systems and reduce long-term environmental impact from technology deployment. He has also served as chief executive of ICIF, InfoComm’s charitable foundation.
The InfoComm International Board of Directors has announced that an extensive search for Dr. Lemke’s successor will be undertaken, with the selection anticipated by the fourth quarter of this year.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Chairman of the Leadership Development Committee and Past President of the Board, Jim Ford, said, “We are proud of Randy’s extraordinary service to InfoComm International. During an economy when many associations are struggling to survive, InfoComm International has enjoyed tremendous growth under Randy’s leadership, quadrupling revenue and expanding our tradeshow presence to 10 shows worldwide. His leadership has taken us from being primarily a dealer trade association, to a global industry association for the entire AV value chain. His dedication to the industry has inspired all of us.”

Looking towards the future, current Board President Greg Jeffreys, stated, “Randy is leaving the Association healthy and well-positioned for continued success. Although we are sorry to see him go, we’re pleased he will continue to lead the organization throughout 2012, and we anticipate that even more innovations and exciting opportunities will come to fruition with his successor.”

The search committee for the new Executive Director will be headed by Tony Warner, Board President-Elect. Warner commented, “Our search will focus on a visionary leader who will maintain the strength and culture of the Association, while furthering our international presence and continuing to raise the profile of our industry. We will retain an executive search firm by the end of the first quarter of 2012 to conduct an extensive search, and we are confident we will be able to identify the best candidates to meet these requirements. At a later time an announcement will be made calling for any potential candidates to submit their materials to the search firm.”
Dr. Lemke joined InfoComm International in 1996 as Vice President of Education, at which time he supervised the development and delivery of the association’s seminars, workshops, advanced schools, international education and certification programs. In 1997, he pioneered InfoComm Academy Online, an Internet-based training system for the AV industry, which currently has 3,000 students enrolled daily. This innovation has become deeply embedded in the AV industry, and forms the core of many companies’ training programs.
In addition to initiating online education at InfoComm International, other highlights of Dr. Lemke’s legacy with InfoComm International include:

• An extensive international expansion, launching audiovisual exhibitions, events and education around the world, including Europe, Asia, Middle East, Oceania and Latin America. This expansion has contributed to InfoComm International’s current worldwide membership, representing over 80 countries, as well as increasing the Association’s size to nearly 120 employees in eight countries.

Manufacturers extend relationship after successful link in U.S.

Bradford, UK, 31 January 2012 – Calibre UK, award-winning designer and manufacturer of some of the world’s highest-performance image processing hardware, is to partner with EIKI Deutschland to offer a combined projection, warping and projection mapping sales and support offering for the German market. FAIRFAX, VA — January 5, 2012 — Following the successful introduction of on-site certification at ISE 2011, InfoComm is again offering attendees of Integrated Systems Europe the chance to take their Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exams just a few steps from the show floor in 2012.

A limited number of exam seats is available on all three days of ISE 2012 – Tuesday 31 January to Thursday 2 February inclusive – and attendees can choose from CTS, CTS-D (Design) and CTS-I (Installation) certifications.

Scott Wills, InfoComm’s Director of International Education and Member Services, says providing on-site certification is a natural extension of InfoComm’s ever-expanding program of ISE education sessions.

“The availability of so many courses that carry RUs (Renewal Units) for CTS certification at ISE means that the show is a great opportunity for attendees to get the extra training they need and then take their exam, while spending very little time away from the show floor,” Wills believes.

The exam rooms will be located in ISE’s new Education Zone, just steps away from Hall 12 of the Amsterdam RAI and in the same building as InfoComm’s classrooms, making the logistics of on-site training and certification easier and more accessible than ever.

All three CTS certifications are internationally accredited under ISO/IEC 17024. As well as increasing their technical knowledge, CTS holders often now benefit from preferred status when bidding for projects, as increasing numbers of technology consultants now specify CTS when issuing tenders for business.

Delta Media Servers transform art deco interior

Small Dole, West Sussex, UK, 21 December 2011 - Large-scale multimedia server specialist 7thSense Design announces their project involvement with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the world-famous Radio City Rockettes for the 2011 edition of this beloved production.

For this project, 7thSense design worked with Madison Square Garden Entertainment, producers of the Christmas Spectacular, batwin+robin productions, a New York-based multimedia design company, and Visual Acuity, an independent media and technology consultancy.

Two racks of Delta Media Servers were able to produce a ‘pixel map’ of the show’s entire laser-scanned 3D display surface for the production’s new digital mapping technology. This enabled batwin+robin’s content creators to place media exactly where they needed it inside the theatre, without having to work in a 3D modeling environment.

Ian Macpherson, Managing Director, 7thSense Design, explains: “This year’s Christmas Spectacular will showcase the extensive use of true 3D mesh-based projection mapping on an architectural scale, with multiple, high-power projectors from Digital Projection blending images onto the art deco ceiling and proscenium arch of Radio City Music Hall. Through this display, the surface will be further extended by the 2D and 3D LED walls.

7th Sense Design supplied seven Delta Media Servers in all. The first serves content to the three projectors projecting onto the main proscenium arch and the second feeds the eight projectors used for the arches either side of the stage. Two additional servers handle the content for LED walls serving as backdrops on the stage and two serve as backup projectors.

“As well as serving 4k uncompressed video content to the proscenium arches through the internal 3D representation of the theatre's walls and ceiling, the servers are all synchronized with the main audio system in the theatre, which sends Locate and Play commands to the Delta Media Server. Real-time commands are also received from the house lighting desk using ArtNet data – which alters the color and transparency of the proscenium arch. The projector shutters are also controlled for when the show requires a dark stage,” explained Macpherson.

In speaking about the technology required for this challenging and exciting installation, Magnus Kemp, Lead Consultant at Visual Acuity explains: “Visual Acuity began the consulting, testing and design of projection technology to cover the art deco interior of Radio City Music Hall for this year’s Christmas Spectacular more than a year ago. We supported the efforts of 7thSense Design to coordinate the content from batwin+robin productions and to perfectly work with the design and layout of Digital Projection projectors.”

Linda Batwin O’Donovan, Partner, batwin+robin, adds: “In terms of multimedia design, we had to find creative ways to project imagery onto the art-deco arches of Radio City’s theater. Through 7thSense’s assistance we were able to implement new geometry controls which, in addition to the Mesh Mode, allowed us to feed our 3D models of the arches directly into the Delta Media Server and project the Christmas imagery.”

The process of fine-tuning the Christmas Spectacular continued into rehearsals, with 7thSense Design’s Delta Media Server working with batwin+robin and Visual Acuity to enhance the media such as placing and sizing ‘Dancing Santa’ shadows, and moving media frame-by-frame in time to match the world-famous eye high kicks of the Rockettes.

Описание тестирования

Доступность видео и управление контентом – одни из самых важных задач при построении рабочего процесса. Поэтому производительность системы хранения данных может диктовать успех проекта. 10GbE оптические карты (NIC), могут передавать данные на большие расстояния по сравнению с медным подключением (без ущерба для скорости).

Тестирование проводилось с помощью пакета AJA System Test, который позволяет эмулировать рабочую среду обработки видео контента в различных форматах.

 

Результаты

ATTO FastFrame NS12 позволяет обрабатывать на 15% больше потоков

NTSC DV25, на 25%  – DVC ProHD и 30% – некомпрессированного HD по сравнению с конкурентами.

Это означает, что пользователь может задействовать  дополнительно:

-  18 потоков NTSC DV25

-  4 потока DVC ProHD

-  1 дополнительный поток некомпрессированного видео.

 

 

Заключение

Независимо от того, какие потоки задействованы: NTSC, DV25 или некомпрессированный HD – ATTO опережает конкурентов Myricom и Chelsio при тестировании на платформе Mac.

Этот тест показывает, что при использовании карт FastFrame достигается более высокая производительность по сравнению с конкурирующими решениями, не предназначенными для данной сферы деятельности (обработка медиаконтентов).

Стенд D15 компании ProVideo Systems на выставке NATEXPO 2011 - PROVIDEO.RU был полностью посвящён продукции компании Blackmagic Design.

Среди продуктов Blackmagic Design были продемонстрированы:

Кроме отдельных продуктов Blackmagic Design на стенде PROVIDEO.RU демонстрировался широкий спектр решений для различных задач современного видеопроизводства и телевещания. Так, впервые в России было показано решение для многоканального захвата видео от мирового лидера по автоматизации вещания на платформе Mac – Tools On Air. При помощи нескольких компьютеров Apple Mac Mini и плат видеозахвата BlackMagic Ultrastudio 3D, а также новейших массивов Promise Pegasus специалисты компании организовали качественный и недорогой захват 4-х и более видеодорожек в реальном времени.

 

 

Посетителям стенда PROVIDEO.RU также могли протестировать новые портативные видеорекордеры ещё одного лидера в видеоиндустрии - компании Atomos. Модель Atomos Ninja – идеальное недорогое решение для видеографов.

 

 

На выставке NATEXPO 2011 (стенд A33) компания ProVideo Systems – ведущий системный дистрибутор, продемонстрировала самые современные решения для автоматизации вещания, хранения медиа, видеомонтажа, цветокоррекции, обработки звука и многого другого.
Традиционно на стенде компании был представлен целый ряд новых разработок от ведущих мировых производителей. В то же время можно было ознакомиться с популярными решениями, которые уже успели завоевать широкое признание на телевещательном рынке.

Внимание посетителей особенно привлекла обширная экспозиция продуктов компании AJA – одного из лидеров в разработке эффективных и высококачественных решений для видеопроизводства и телевещания. Среди новинок – многопоточные вещательные конвертеры FS2 и универсальные компактные роутеры KUMO. Впервые были представлены новые платы захвата линейки KONA и внешний интерфейс IO XT с интерфейсом Thunderbolt. Все это оборудование совместно с решениями других производителей представляло собой комплексные решения для Захвата, Записи, Монтажа, Преобразования и Дистрибуции Медиа.

Отдельная зона стенда ProVideo Systems была посвящена решениям по хранению медиа. Здесь помимо дисковых массивов таких популярных брендов, как i-Stor, Accusys, Infortrend, Sonnet были продемонстрированы новейшие массивы Promise с интерфейсом Thunderbolt, а также высокопроизводительные комплексы на базе систем Isilon и Avrora. В этой части стенда также можно было ознакомиться с решениями по созданию архивов на базе ленточных библиотек. Все это оборудование позволяет создавать комплексы для эффективной обработки и хранения данных с использованием технологий DAS, NAS и SAN.

Специальный раздел стенда, посвященный работе с 3D стерео, также вызвал интерес посетителей NATEXPO. Здесь были представлены новинки ведущих мировых производителей для съемки, монтажа и воспроизведения 3D-стереоконтента.

Было также представлено видеооборудование компаний Panasonic, RED Digital Cinema.

Среди решений для профессиональной работы со звуком на стенде была демонстрирована система Avid ProTools, а также оборудование таких производителей как Sennheiser, ADAM, MOTU, LynxStudio, KRK.


Как и последние несколько лет, на стенде Provideo Systems была организована специальная тренинг-зона, где все желающие могли подробнее узнать о возможностях работы оборудования и программного обеспечения, а также о последних новинках ведущих зарубежных фирм-производителей для телевещательной отрасли. Отдельные секции были посвящены Монтажным системам, Системам Хранения, 3D стереопроизводству.
Среди докладчиков – представители компаний: Isilon, Quantum, Tools on Air, AJA, Adobe, nVidia и других.
